Olympics

While the Olympics has been on we have enjoyed learning and discovering about the countries which have been involved, the events the athletes have been participating in and what values make an Olympic athlete including a visit from an Olympic medal winner!
We are very proud of our NZ athletes and have been enjoying adding onto our medal count!

Students shared facts about a country which was participating in the London Olympic Games 2012.

Mr Bird shared his bronze medal which he won in 1988, Summer Olympics in Seoul.
First we designed and drew our own sports shoe then we discussed and drew pictures of what friendship, respect and excellence would look like.

Shows

Last week we watched two entertaining shows both with very important messages. The first show we watched was NED - Never Give Up, Encourage Others and Do Your Best. We use the NED message both inside and outside the classroom!

The second show was based around the food pyramid. The characters in the story encouraged us to eat vegetables and fruit often and sugary food sometimes.

We have been working on using adjectives to make our writing interesting. Once we have finished our writing we have been using Fix Five to proofread and edit our work.
We enjoyed sharing some of our work with students in Room 3!
